What about Electrics?
Every Oakland is supplied completed with integral electrics, including plug sockets, light switches, positional spot lights, telecommunication sockets and also a consumer unit. All plugs and lightd are pre wired ready to go. (Please see individual product specifications for full details of number and also finish options).

You simply need to hire a local electrician to take a feed from your household fuse box to your Oakland Garden Office consumer unit.
Normally the installation of external electrics is completed within a few hours and normally costs around £150– 200 for a fully qualified electrician. We can find you a local electrician if you are having problems.

Does your Oakland need planning permission?
In most cases this is not necessary, Exceptions include situations where properties are within a conservation areas and properties within the curtilige of a listed building. Oakland will advise you and also we can assist you if planning permission is required.

Can I have a different colour?
We are open to any requests for change of specification and will be more than happy to discuss any changes that you would like to make to your Oakland Garden Office.

Is my Oakland Insulated?
All Oakland Garden Offices are insulated with Isover insulation (100mm) on all sides and the roof , this coupled with a high quality 25mm thick Western Red Cedar Cladding and melamime faced MDF ensures your office will be warm in winter and cool in summer and also quiet throughout the seasons.

Does my Oakland need erecting a certain distance away from my house?
Yes this correct your Oakland will need to be at least 5m away from you house.

What are the hidden costs?
At Oakland we have done our very best to cover every aspect of your Garden Office assembly and maintenance, we will if needed provide ground-works if necessary and also arrange electrical connection to your Oakland. Telecommunications may also be required, BT or similar will advise on the necessary steps required this will be either running cables to your Oakland or using a suitable Hands free system.
Our buildings pretty much include everything needed in an office environment, but if you do have any special requirements please discuss this with us.

Do I have to prepare the Ground-works myself?
No we can prepare the area that your office will sit on (please see price list), although if you prefer you can you can undertake this job yourself, either by creating a slabbed base or concrete pad or just clearing a lawn or patio area – the ground has to be level and firm, if this isn’t the case give us a call and we will discuss your options as we can provide building on very steep inclines.

Does my Oakland come complete with a telephone point?
Yes it does in fact all Oakland Garden Offices are supplied with 2 separate telecommunication points, however you will need to get your electrican to connect you, or use a suitable hands free system and also a wireless network system for computers.

When will my Oakland be delivered?
At Oakland we try ensure that your Garden Office is fully installed by our experienced team of fitters within 1-2 months from the date of your order. However if you do require any special terms please give us a call to discuss your requirements.
